Some information on the XP-67

The XP-67 is known as the "Flying Fillet"; any longitudinal cross section through the airplane being an airfoil section.

The six 37 mm. cannon parts were covered and carefully smoothed over. The airplane was camouflaged and the over all surface was very smooth and polished.

Conclusions

1. The performance of the airplane was not good in comparison to present fighters particularly in rate of climb, take-off and landing characteristics and service and combat ceiling.

2. The flying characteristics in respect to stability and maneuverability leave much to be desired. Visibility is poor for all conditions of flight. The cockpit layout could be improved with but few changes.
